Review by hotel critic
My recent stay at the charming Glen Tavern Inn in Santa Paula, California was a mix of old Hollywood glamour and cozy Tudor-Craftsman style. the lobby exuded a grand yet homey feel, perfect for social gatherings or family reunions. The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable, though I did notice a slight musty smell in the bathroom. the bed was high, which made it a bit challenging to climb into but added a whimsical touch to the room. Although we didn't get to try the on-site restaurant, the vintage decor and ambiance hinted at a delightful dining experience that I would love to return for. Instead, we ventured into Ventura and Ojai, taking in the coastal favorites and exploring the local shops and attractions within walking distance. The staff at the front desk were friendly and accommodating, adding to the overall welcoming atmosphere of the inn. I particularly enjoyed the historical architecture and haunted feel of the property, making our stay even more intriguing. Overall, Glen Tavern Inn offers a unique blend of rustic charm and vintage glamour, making it a perfect retreat for those looking to immerse themselves in the rich history of Ventura County. A few updates here and there would elevate the experience, but the central location, cozy ambiance, and friendly staff make it a place worth visiting again.
